Hello!

My name is Gema. It sounds like “Emma,” but spelled with a “G.” The “G” is pronounced like an “H,” and there’s only one “M.”

I was born in New Jersey and grew up in Reno, Nevada, near the Sierra Nevada mountains. My passion for storytelling and photography started young, sparked by my first camera at age 10 and nurtured through middle school yearbook. After earning degrees from Truckee Meadows Community College and the University of Nevada, Reno, I built a career in journalism and television production, with stops in Reno, Seattle, and now Houston.

Today, I produce lifestyle television while continuing to pursue photography and other creative outlets. I'm drawn to projects that blend storytelling, culture, travel, and visual media, whether through television, photography, documentary work, or creative production.

Long-term, I'd love to create projects that explore the connection between people and place, from documenting architecture and culture to producing visual stories inspired by film, travel, and history. I’m especially interested in opportunities involving creative direction, production design, documentary storytelling, and visual content creation.

When I'm not producing television, you'll likely find me with a camera in hand, sewing, arranging flowers, or planning my next adventure.
